A couple of weeks ago I made a cake and cupcakes for the now Mrs. Cami Brumley and her husband Jeremy. Such a sweet and easy-going couple they were! Their cake was vanilla on the top and bottom tiers, and Guinness Stout spice cake in the middle. The cupcakes were vanilla and chocolate, and buttercream icing was everywhere!
My proudest moment with this cake? The icing didn’t break on the way up to the venue! There was no fondant, just buttercream, and it was a decently warm (not hot, but in the 70s) and sunny February day in Austin. I was partially terrified of the icing melting off the cake into a pile of sugary goodness. Thank goodness for excellent car air conditioners! I kept the a/c on so high, my boyfriend (and makeshift delivery assistant) and I could barely feel our fingers when we arrived. All in the name of good cakes!
Stay tuned for my next update, which will be a peacock cake for my friend Chelsea’s birthday!
